RD +55 Residential Developments is an Alberta based Planning and Development Company that is dedicated to the creation of +55 Living Communities that facilitate the needs of people as they age. 

Owned by John Reid and Dixie Dahlstedt.  We have assembled a team of extraordinary professionals who have a combination of experience and success, who pride themselves on their contribution to this shared vision to change the landscape of how we care for each other as we age.

 Years of research has been invested to fully understand the needs of people as they age in rural areas. Our solutions address the challenges of aging Physically, Psychologically and Financially. Our developments combine residential design with senior's health needs creating safe and beautiful environments that actually help preserve your health and wealth.  

Our homes provide you with exceptional quality and a more manageable amount of space. Our 2 bedroom homes are 1470 sq ft plus a 650 sq ft attached garage. Our 3 bedroom homes are 1740 sq ft plus a 650 sq ft attached garage. You will own a beautiful home with less area to care for, lower utilities and worry free maintenance.

Our homes are designed to allow people to live in a barrier free environment. So if you are ever in a wheelchair or walker you can move freely throughout your home. Attached secure double garages. Single story with no stairs. 3 feet wide doors. 4'x7' walk in shower. Elevated washer dryer for easy access. Wall ovens for easy access. Lever hardware. Raised outlets for comfort access. We believe that our barrier free homes will allow people to stay in their homes and have home care supplement medical care as they age and require more support.  

We give you the option to purchase prior to construction so you can select the finishes including flooring, tile, countertops, cabinetry, paint, wall panelling, fireplace finishes. We have assembled different finish combinations for you to choose from. These combinations also offer buyers a choice of price. 

Our homes are built to the highest specifications for thermal insulation wall construction, roof insulation and triple pane thermal windows and doors. Building materials are fire retardant and long lasting, low to no maintenance. We recapture run off water from gutters to irrigate green space. Solar panels are optional for increased energy efficiency. Energy efficient appliances. Individual home controls for heating, cooling and water temperature.

Security is an important element of our developments. We have planned our developments around safety. The developments are fenced to provide a secure common garden that each home opens up to, ensuring access to only residents and guests. This large outdoor landscaped area provides space where residents may walk freely and spend time outside, regardless of physical or mental limitations as they age. We offer back up generators and custom security systems for each home. Ground floor homes accommodate ease of exiting in case of fire or for access of EMS into the residence. 

A monthly HOA Home Owners Association fee will provide for landscaping and maintenance of common area, including snow removal. Annual maintenance includes gutter cleaning and exterior window cleaning of homes.

The HOA will cover the cost of common outdoor area liability insurance. You will need to take out standard insurance for your home.

Each home has a private outdoor patio and faces onto a common area garden. These gardens are the heart of our developments. It gives residents a connection to nature and the beauty of the changing seasons. We realize that as people age they spend more time in their homes which means our homes become central to your well being.

Our development contains a pickleball court for residents to enjoy.

Our development will have an off leash dog park where residents can sit on a bench and watch their pets run and exercise in a safe environment.
